Normal Attire:  Nailah wears clothing typically meant to be easy to move in.  She always wears a necklace gifted to her by Ja’far

Her standard costume consists a lemon yellow shirt with a high collar, no sleeves, and a bare midriff; she wears a pair of white harem pants that have a purple (leaning toward plum) fabric stitched to the top hem as a sort of skirt that covers her left hip.  She wears a pair of yellow/gold Punjabi jutti (shoes).  She usually wears a pair of brown gloves that extend up to her elbow. *I forgot to draw the gloves*

Her outfit doesn’t change much after the first time skip.  The top becomes more of a tube top and covers her belly now, though her hips are still exposed.  The purple fabric is shorter around her hips.  Her gloves are shorter now, only going midway up her arm.

After the second time skip her clothes become more decorative and her hair is shorter.  The yellow tube top is much longer now with a "side-skirt" starting at her right hip and the purple fabric is no longer used.  She still wears white harem pants.  Her gloves are reduced to just one to cover her disfigured left hand and is now a black leather coming just over her wrist.  She now wears a pair of chunky gold earrings.

Likes:  sewing (even going as far as to stealing a few nice fabrics to work with.  She made each of her outfits); jewelry; free stuff (duh)

Dislikes:  Being in a room alone with only one other person (and being alone in general); working; spending money; being indoors for too long; amputees; blood

Fears:   the dark;  Butcher knives specifically; jewelry salesmen

Strengths: Nailah is quite flexible and very nimble.  She’s fast and can get around with ease.

Weaknesses:  Nailah is also a bit lazy at times and also very naive.  For someone of her “profession”, she is far too trusting.  She is also a bit too reliant on her brother to come “save the day”

Biography:  [All before the start of the Manga/Anime] Nailah didn't/doesn’t know her father very well, if at all, and her mother passed away when she was ten; so, for most of her life that she can remember, she has relied solely on her brother Junyad.  Unlike her brother, Nailah wasn’t born into slavery, her father actually having freed her mother.  Her father moved her mother to Sindria, but when she supposedly contracted an unknown illness, he left to find a cure.  She died shortly after.   

After their mother died, and since their father was believed to still be alive, the siblings were allowed to remain in Nailah’s father’s home in Sindria.  When Nailah was 12 her brother started working--mostly a few odd jobs--he developed quite a knack for working with plants--and because of his busy work schedule, Nailah was often left home alone.  In order to escape the boredom and loneliness of this, she started venturing outside.  On one of these days, she watched as someone dropped a small purse of coins.  In order to return it, she ran to pick it up but the person who had dropped the purse was long gone once she looked back up.  So she kept the purse.  What started as a seemingly "accidental" theft turned into a string of very intentional thievery.  

Eventually, her brother was hired to work as a sort of farm hand and he was gone even more frequently, but when he was home he’d often take Nailah out shopping.  One day when she was out shopping with Junyad , trailing behind him, she spotted a gorgeous necklace that she just had to get her hands on.  Before she even touched it a butcher’s knife came down across her fingers (on her left hand) and before she realized it, the attacker had swung again.  The commotion caused by this gained her brother’s attention and he returned to defend her, knocking the man back before he could cut her arm off with his wild swinging.  Junyad still had his hand scythe from the day’s work attached to his hip and in a fit of rage, he attacked the man with it.
